#StormArea51 Means The First Alien Versus Human War?
People are going to, supposedly, storm Area 51 on September 20, 2019. While this is a joke, it does have over a million people confirmed to be attending the #StormArea51 event. With this in mind, lets delve into being prepared for a minute here. If they do storm Area 51, and some how miraculously breach security and get inside the facility, I guess like Stranger Things did in Season 3 with the Russian base, there could be some major consequences for the rest of us. If they get in there and actually do "see them aliens", it could mean that aliens who possibly are sedated could be awoken and released into the wild. So having a disaster kit, while mainly for natural disasters, may be a great idea!
Independence Day, Mars Attacks, War Of The Worlds, Aliens, Signs and many more movies could come true! So what is one to do? Well first off if you are seeing this prior to your ability to get some supplies through Amazon Prime Next Day Shipping, good on you. If you see this on September 20th, this article might be useless. Either way, you will get some supplies that will help you in a disaster of any kind! So thinking about if aliens are let loose, or other aliens come to earth to gather their friends that have been jailed here for years, what supplies would you need? Well in all these movies the aliens end up eventually being aggressive. So defense is something you must think about. Go buy a gun. I recommend you have a semi-automatic weapon. It could be something like the Browning BAR hunting rifle, an AR-15, AK-47, Keltec SUB2000 or MPX 9mm. Something that you can put rounds downrange against multiple attackers.
For all we know these aliens could be majorly fast, so hit the range before September 20th! Also, go to a firearm training course like ones provided by Full Spectrum Warrior or Rockwell Tactical. Make sure to have ample ammo and magazines for your guns. Get at least 1,000 rounds of ammo for each gun and 6 magazines. That is a good starting point.
You are going to have to carry this ammo, and what better way than a plate carrier. Slap some Grey Ghost Gear Level IIIA plates in it to protect you from any unknown fire you might take. Better safe than sorry! Outfit your plate carrier with magazine pouches and a medical kit of some sort. I love the Blue Force Gear Micro Kit and their standard rifle magazine pouches are super light and bombproof.
So you can defend yourself now, but you need some recon gear. Get some binoculars, flashlights, paracord, bungee cords, night vision, chem lights, airsoft smoke grenades, flares and backup batteries! Do not forget the Lithium-Ion batteries, or you might not make it out of this alien war alive! Always have a map of your surroundings and potential areas to take advantage of if main roads are jacked up. Think ahead so when you get into a abnormal situation you can adapt and overcome it quicker and be nimble, not kibble! Make sure to get your minuteman bag together!
Moving on to basic disaster kit stuff. Build your DIY medical disaster kit. There are some main things to think about when building a medical emergency kit. Bleeding stoppers, wound management, medicine, wound dressings, broken bones, snake bites, hypothermia, disease prevention, etc. Having medical gear for all these emergencies is key. For instance if you are walking more and maybe on rugged forest trails, you might break something (or a family member, etc.). Having a SAM splint means you can manage that injury, where if you did not have that it would be much more difficult to stabilize the broken bone.
You might be dealing with insects more due to being outdoors or around flood water which is contaminated. So some repellent and itch cream is a must, as well as some netting or shelter. You will be eating different foods more regularly, so an anti-diarrhea is a must. Diarrhea leads to dehydration, which is a killer in a emergency disaster situation like a Hurricane, Blizzard, long term power outage, etc. Also, fevers can turn deadly, so having a thermometer and ice pack as well as some fever reducer like ibuprofen is pertinent. These are just some examples. When you are a beginner with building a medical disaster (emergency) kit, you got to start easy. Do not overload yourself thinking you need all of these items outlined below immediately. No need to stress out.
Next will be food. I like to mix quick meals with quick access food like snickers. You need moral boosters in crappy times, pack some snacks for sure! I have found some great tasting add water only macaroni and cheese with hatch chilis. Along with those meals some AlpineAire or Backpackers Pantry kind of meals works well and last about 5 years. Stuff from Valley Food Storage lasts 25 years. Get a mixture based on eating once, maybe twice a day per person. I say start with a month worth of food. Get cooking items, so a pot, stirring utensil, knife, etc. You will need a stove, so grab a MSR WhisperLite Stove and about 6 large IsoButne canisters. You can cook over a fire to reserve your IsoButane for crappy conditions, use the easy stuff when it is hard conditions! Make sure to get some camping utensils and plates/bowls to eat out of.
Hygiene is going to be important. So have soap, hand sanitizer, feminine wipes, laundry detergent, etc. It can get filthy fast, and filth kills! Go buy some jumbo toilet paper and get one of those 5 gallon bucket poopers with some kitty litter. Trust me, you will thank me later the first time this comes in handy. So, will this crazy war happen? Who knows, but it certainly is possible. Like anything in life!
